Thorpe Guided Reading Overview 2025 - 2026
Please see below our Guided Reading overview. Every year, our team work hard to create a reading long term plan to support our children, link to their year group's curriculum topics and delve into social and diversity topics. We update our overview every year taking feedback from our pupils and staff team. We aim to engage our pupils using a variety of texts and focus on fiction, non-fiction and poetry. At Thorpe we want to encourage a love for reading and a passion for reading for pleasure. To compliment our reading overview, we focus on VIPERS skills that are embedded from year 1 up to year 6 during our guided reading sessions. To help support your children at home, introduce them to the texts that they will be looking at this year.
